CHURUBUSCO — Don’t miss a chance for your kids, grandkids and neighbors to enjoy all kinds of activities at the annual Kids Day in the Park Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. It will be held next to Diamond 2 in the Churubusco Park. There will be carnival games, prizes, clowns and balloon characters, a peanut hunt for the wee ones, a watermelon eating contest, a cake walk and much more.
The Parkview Samaritan rescue helicopter will land in the ball diamond around 11 a.m. so kids of all ages can get a close up look at the emergency helicopter. Along with the Samaritan, local fire trucks and an EMS ambulance will be on hand, as well.
The free event is sponsored by the Churubusco United Methodist Church, Collins United Methodist Church, Churubusco Church of the Nazarene, Faith Lutheran Church and the Sugar Grove Church of God. Many local organizations and businesses have donated prizes for the event. Additional activities and games will be provided by Chippy the Clown & Tiny, Parkview Health and Parkview Whitley Hospital, Churubusco Child Care Center, Churubusco United Methodist Church Nursery School, Whitley County Humane Society, McDonald’s, Paige’s Crossing and Crazy Pins.
The event will end at 11:30 a.m., in plenty of time to register for the annual Chamber of Commerce turtle races on Diamond 1.
