He married Elizabeth Duddie on July 6, 1974. He was a manager at the local Home Depot. He loved working at a job where he talked with people and often would use his spanish skills to interpret for Hispanic customers. He was involved with the Grub and Go guys at Fellowship. He did not know a stranger, everybody was his friend. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with everyone.
Missing him are his children, Mary, Daniel and Holly Gerber; four grandchildren, Olivia, Hope, Daniel Jr., and Lillian; brothers and sisters, Richard (Nancy) Gerber of Churubusco, Ruth (Gary) Leman of Fort Wayne, Jarred (Beth) Gerber of Roanoke, and Janna Jacobs of Naperville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father, Vergil G. Gerber.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 E. Tillman Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road.
Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
