He was born on November 1, 1945, in Rochester, Ind. He was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Lions Club and “Oliver Club.” He was employed with M & W Countertops and Harlan Cabinets for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Dixie L. of Leo; stepson, Clark (MaryAnn) Pence, of Canal Winchester, Ohio; daughters, Amy Taggart of Fort Wayne and Angela Taggart of Chicago, Ill.; brothers, John (Jennifer) Taggart of Shippenburg, Pa. and Dean Taggart of Duluth, Minn.; grandchildren, Alissa Pence, Katrina Pence and Jesse Pence; and mother, Pauline Taggart of Leo. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Darrel Taggart, in 2008.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2010, at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 East Wayne Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne Street.
