Girls Basketball ~ Generals push past Eagles

The Generals came out on a mission in the third period. As they went on a 15-0 run, in what some would call two touchdowns, an extra-point and a two-point conversion. Wayne stepped up the pressure in the second half forcing turnovers by the Lady Eagles. Nichole Wormcastle had the only points for the Eagles in the third quarter, a three-pointer.  Wormcastle was the leading scorer for the Lady Eagles with eight points on the night. Haleigh Gross pushed the ball into the Generals’ defense and was able to pick up six points during the last period.

Two Eagle starters, Alysa Holloway and Morgan Young, were on the bench because of illness and others looked sluggish as well. Holloway, with limited playing time, had five points and three assists. Young meanwhile saw about eight minutes of action and managed two rebounds and was 0-1 shooting. Freshman Kasey Gibson made the most of her first varsity start. Gibson contributed four points, grabbed five rebounds, stole the ball five times and had four assists.
