Gene Sheets

He went on to join the Army and served in the Korean War. He married Ilene E. Maley on June 5, 1951 in Huntington. She preceded him in death in October 2004 after 53 years of marriage.

Mr. Sheets retired from Noll Printing in Huntington after 29 years of service. He also worked for Container Corporation in Fort Wayne for 10 years and the Logansport Press for three years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #160 and V.F.W. Post #2689.

Surviving are one son, David (Pamala) Sheets of Spring Town, Texas; two daughters, Jean (Michael) Baughman and Marcia Hoffman, both of Churubusco; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Kenneth, Junior and Annan Sheets; and three sisters, Inez Sagers, Mildred Bir and Phyllis Conn.

Arrangements were by Bailey-Love Mortuary,  Huntington. Funeral service was Saturday, October 24, also at the Mortuary, with Russell Buzzard officiating. 

Burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne with military graveside services by V.F.W. Post #2689, Huntington and American Legion Post #160 of Roanoke.
