Straub has been an Indiana state licensed teacher for 10 years and truly loves education and the idea of always furthering education.
She is in the classroom at the Marshall Building at 107 N. Walnut Street, door #6 in Columbia City for GED instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. During this classroom time, students working toward their GED, receive different types of instruction with her. They do one-on-one and small/whole group instruction, and computer lab work to name a few. Students can also come in for independent assigned work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. When a student is consistent with their preparation time, their goals are more attainable. She encourages all students to dedicate at least 12 hours of study toward their GED preparation.
The Whitley County Literacy Council has also partnered with their Whitley County WorkOne to help students that are enrolled in their GED classes to have access to courses with WorkOne to further their education past their GED.
If you are a current student and have not been in for awhile, please stop in and meet Straub and see how she can help students reach their education goals. She feels honored to have this adult education teaching position. She looks forward to helping all of the current students and new students of the future.
