FORT WAYNE — Finley Hood, 58, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009, at home.
Born in Middlesboro, Ky., he worked for Dana Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1999, and was currently employed at Omnicare Pharmacy. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1971 to 1973.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pamela K. (Geerken) Hood; sons, Chad C. Hood of Fort Wayne and Benjamin S. (Sara) Hood of Indianapolis; brothers, John D. (Pat) Gray of Arizona, Verlin (Bonnie) Gray, James C. Hood Jr. and William K. Hood; sisters, Dallie M. (Gary) Snyder and Deborah (Kenneth) Spillers of Fort Wayne; aunts, Opal Hood of Kentucky and Edith Sturdivant of Fort Wayne; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Mae Hood; father, James C. Hood Sr.; and sisters, Corrina Gray, Nellie B. Worrell and Mary J. Romero. “He was a loving husband, father and brother, who cared for his family in ways too innumerble to measure. He leaves big footprints, literally and from his many acts of kindness, that are impossible to fill.”
Service was Friday at D. O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home.
Burial was at Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
