Educational programs at Whitley County Extension Office

Family traditions are often the basis for forming family memories. The more you understand about your family traditions the more you can appreciate them and the opportunities for preserving your family memories. This workshop will help you explore your family traditions and rituals.

“Tempting the Taste Buds (with Cultural Foods)”

This program will begin at 1 p.m.

Are there certain food dishes that you prepare which were from great-grandma’s recipes? Why do certain cultures use specific spices/ingredients that are characteristic of their country? This program will  travel the globe highlighting customs and food dishes of various cultures.

“You Can’t Take It With You”

This program will begin at 7 p.m.

Many times one of the hardest tasks about estate planning is getting the ball rolling. Have you made the decisions to make sure the things you can’t take with you are distributed as intended? Is your estate plan complete? Has it been reviewed to determine if it is still current? There are several steps to take to move the process forward; understanding the language is half the battle.

All programs are open to the public. Reservations are due to the Extension Office by Thursday, September 30 and will be held at the Whitley County Extension Office, 115 S. Line Street, Columbia City. Call (260) 244-7615 or 625-3313 to reserve your spot or go to cbarnett@purdue.edu.
