“Luke is only a freshman and has progressed well,” commented Coach Natalie Pugh. “He is getting better each match and keeps asking what he needs to work on to get better. His ability to play a consistent game while playing at the number one spot has earned him that position.”

Churubusco played Bethany Christian Friday evening and lost a very close match. Luke Lillmars defeated his opponent 6-3,6-3 for the number one singles win. Pearson and Wormcastle defeated their opponents in three sets 6-7 (6-8), 6-3 and 6-2.

Saturday in the Wayne Invitational Luke Lillmars won his two matches all with scores of 6-3. Pearson and Wormcastle won 6-2, 6-3 in the first round but fell 5-7 and 3-6 in the second round. Heaton won in the second round 6-7, 6-2, 7-5 and Landon Lillmars won 6-0, 6-0 in his second round match. The number two doubles team of Spencer and Luttman was defeated  in the first round 6-4, 1-6, 3-6 but came back in the second round picking up the win 6-3, 6-0.
