Connor Hogeston led the boys’ team finishing in 17:12.47 good for tenth place overall. Davon Geiger crossed the line in 19th place with a time of 17:41.04. Joel Fehring was 47th, Chase Downing finished 50th and Blake Gross crossed the line in 65th place. That paced the Eagles to a sixth place finish as a team in a field of 21 teams.
“We are finally starting to get healthy as a team,” stated Coach Jon Pelz. “We had good runs by all our athletes and we had a lot of P.R.’s here today.”
In the girls’ race Rachel Fehring was the first Lady Eagle to cross the line. She did it in 21:52.77 good for 20th place. Alex Eyer was next to finish and she was 24th (22:04.43) followed closely by Carissa Pescatello in 25th (22:07.25). Brittany McKinney finished with a time of 22:45.65 coming in 31st place. Haleigh Gross finished 41st with a time of 23:30.03 to round out the top five Busco finishers. The Lady Eagle runners finished fifth as a team in a field of 16 teams.
The Churubusco cross country teams will be at West Noble for the Conference meet this Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
