The Angel Food Program provides good quality food to over 500,000 families in 35+ states through local host sites such as Eagle Quest Church.
A box of food consists of fresh, frozen, and packaged food that will feed a family of four for about a week at a cost of only $30.00. In cost comparisons the same items ran about $60.00 at local groceries, a good value and a practical way to give a helping hand to people during difficult times.
In past years the Christmas Bureau was able to fill the needs of many during the Christmas Season. With the state of the economy and without the presence of the Christmas Bureau the need is expected to exceed previous years. Those who helped the Christmas Bureau in the past are encouraged to lend a helping hand again this year.
The Salvation Army and Eagle Quest Church are seeking individuals, churches, businesses, and organizations who would like to sponsor a family for Christmas. Those wishing to spread some Christmas cheer by helping a family in need this season can do so by contacting Salvation Army or Eagle Quest Church. Both organizations are located at 1120 N. SR 9, just a half mile north of State Road 30.
Deadline for donations is 12 noon on December 9. Make checks payable to Eagle Quest Church/AFM with “Christmas Food” on the memo line.
