This past Saturday the Eagles’ cross country teams traveled to West Noble to compete in the West Noble Invitational. There were 316 runners from 45 teams entered in the varsity event.
The Lady Eagle runners were led by Carissa Pescatello who finished with a time of 22:05.61 in 60th place. Rachel Fehring came across the line in 22:54.86 and placed 81st. Alex Eyer was the third Eagle runner to cross the finish line in 23:18.92, good for 87th. Brittany McKinney was 96th, Jenna Uecker finished 107th and Erika Smallwood came in 133rd for Churubusco. As a team the Lady Eagles finished 16th out of 21 teams with an average time of 23:24.50.
In the boys meet the Eagles’ Connor Hogeston crossed the finish line in 17:24.48 good for 30th place. Chase Downing ran the course in 18:56.52 for 102nd place. Blake Gross was 128th (19:49.30), Joel Fehring finished 135th (20:03.26), Cole Uecker was 142nd (20:28.99) and Cameron Pescatello finished 146th (20:36.56). There were 24 teams in the boys race with 172 runners participating. Churubusco finished in 22nd place with the average time of 19:20.51.
The cross country teams will be running in the New Haven Invitational this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
