Community Christmas celebration just around the corner

This is a LIVE NATIVITY celebration in its 26th year! Approximately 100 people participate in it each night, and hundreds more visit it.

In addition to the Live Nativity, complete with animals (sheep, goats, donkey, alpaca, and maybe a few other critters), special music will be ongoing inside the Courthouse. Paula McMillen and “Aunt Sharon” Rucker will be telling stories to the young ones. Homemade cookies, hot chocolate and coffee will be free to visitors.

They need donations of homemade cookies (please drop off at the Courthouse; call Laura if you need her to pick up cookies from your home); they also need actors and actresses of all ages (please call Wendi Barnett at 723-4566 if you’d like to help either or both nights); and they need people to dress the actors and actresses (if you can help with that either or both nights, please contact Chris Paulus at 248-8713). One or two people are needed this year to help with the outdoor sound; to help please call Laura Gater at 244-6495.

Toys for Tots will have a police cruiser parked on the north side of the Courthouse December 3 and 4 to collect new toys.

The date for Community Choir practice will be set soon, and the schedule of special music will also be published later this month.

Get ready for the “Journey to Bethlehem.”
