Outside there is activity at the four corners of the square. Even the animals in their stables seem to have a sense of wonder. A baby lies in a manager as “Mary” and “Joseph” rest close by. Shepherds in flowing robes appear and angels watch. A hush comes over the crowd. Music fills the air inside the courthouse and drifts out over the city as the Community Choir begins to sing. Narrators and guides tell of the star, long journeys in olden days, and the birth of a Child in a manger. Guest musicians share their talents between choir performances.
In the spirit of giving, hundreds of volunteers make all this possible for everyone to enjoy without charge.
Plan to spend a special evening on Friday, December 4 or Saturday, December 5 and fill your spirit with Christmas at the courthouse in Columbia City.
