CHURUBUSCO — Clyde A. Rollins, 79, of Churubusco, died at 11:14 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne.
Born on April 16, 1939, in Churubusco, he was the son of the late Marvin and Florence (Deck) Rollins. He spent his formative years in Churubusco.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married in Churubusco to Mary Helen Ohlwine on September 15, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2008.
He was a lifetime member of Churubusco American Legion Post 157. He also belonged to VFW Post 3846.
He is survived by five children, Rick (Cyndi) Rollins, Vicki (Dave) Hochsteller, Sandy (Max) Herendeen, Tammy (Rob) Crooks, Penny (Pat) Goggin; a brother, Eddie Rollins; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Alfred, Charles, Ross, Clayton and Robert Rollins; four sisters, Carolyn Shelmadine, Phyllis Born, Pat Perkins and Letha Born.
Calling will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 2-7 p.m. Services will begin at 7 p.m. that evening at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Honor Flight Northeast Indiana in Mr. Rollins’ name.
