CHURUBUSCO — Thanks to support from citizens of Churubusco, the Churubusco Youth Foundation exceeded its $25,000 matching goal from IHCDA for the construction of new ADA-accessible playground in Churubusco Community Park.
“Our campaign manager from IHCDA was skeptical that we could achieve such a lofty goal in only 60 days,” says foundation President Miles Wilson. “But we assured her she didn’t know ’Busco. She didn’t know how supportive this community is and how badly we need this playground.”
While the Youth Foundation has exceeded the IHCDA matching goal, the total project goal has not yet been met. The Youth Foundation is still $30,000 away from its $250,000 goal. There is still time to put your name on Oscar’s Playland. Tax deductible donations can be sent to the Churubusco Youth Foundation, 215 N. Line St., Churubusco, or online at patronicity.com/project/oscars_playland#/.
