Cheers, Jeers & Whatabouts ~ December 22, 2010

CHEERS TO: Brevin’s Downtown and Kevin Riecke for giving all the gifts of food to the homeless veterans at the Shepherd’s House on Tennessee Avenue in Fort Wayne. (The Shepherd’s House recently opened a wing for homeless veterans).

-A thankful veteran

CHEERS AND THANKS TO: The Green Township 4-H Club for the basket of fruit, canned goods, and other goodies that was delivered to us last Saturday. We also enjoyed their singing of Christmas Carols.

-Lloyd and Ruth Anna Young

CHEERS AND THANK YOU TO: The Green Township 4-H Clubs for the awesome caroling and gift box! I was so surprised. It’s so nice to live in such a thoughtful community and to see our youth doing good for others.

-Jeri Crance

CHEERS TO: Mr. Hile on the outstanding job he does as director of New Era, choir, and musicals. New Era has won numerous awards over the years, without the advantage of a class system, which most athletic teams have. I also appreciate his integrity by following the rules as printed in the student handbook. I’m glad my granddaughter had the opportunity to be a part of his group.

-Janice Killworth

CHEERS AND THANK YOU TO: The American Legion Sons of the Legion for your generous support of the Churubusco Methodist Church Soup to Shut-In Ministry. Your confrontations allows us to continue this important ministry. And a big thank you to all who helped with the Thanksgiving dinner and the Christmas dinner.  To all who made the Christmas families have a Merry Christmas, and the fun we had wrapping presents for them.  Also to the second shift C&A gals who did the shopping –let me give you my list—you did a marvelous job. To all  THANK YOU. AND A BIG  “THANK YOU” TO: All my favorite Santas at the American Legion for making my Christmas trip easier.  And while I do not know who all of you are, I know I am very blessed to have you all in my life.
