The Eagles fell behind 11-2 halfway through the first period of play but were able to trim the lead to 13-6 at quarter’s end.
With two three-pointer’s from Nichole Wormcastle and one by Morgan Young the Lady Eagles pulled within five points at 20-15 with four minutes remaining in the half. The rally was short lived as the Chargers stormed back with a 14-7 run to close the half giving West Noble a 34-22 lead at the break.
Again the third quarter woes haunted the Lady Eagles as they managed just seven points in the period. In the closing quarter the Lady Eagles played hard but weren’t able to gain any ground. With the Chargers stretching their lead to 24 points at the 4:24 mark, the Busco girls fought back trimming the lead as they fell 65-46 to the Chargers.
With the advantage in the low post the Lady Chargers shut down Churubusco’s leading scorer, Taylor Amber to just four points on the night. The Lady Eagles had some good looks at the bucket too, but the shots just weren’t falling as they finished 16-67 for the night.
Wormcastle led in scoring with 11 points followed by Alysa Holloway with nine and Young with eight. Amber led the Eagles with 11 rebounds and Young added eight as they out-rebounded the Chargers 46-32.
The Lady Eagles host Leo on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and Prairie Heights on Saturday with the JV starting at 1:00 p.m.
