COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Chamber of Commerce hosted the third event of its winter series of Chamber Legislative Forums on Saturday.
State Representative Christopher Judy spoke about the proposed gas tax, seeking input from attendees about the potential 10-cent-per-gallon gas hike that will soon be considered. Additionally, Judy and State Senator Andy Zay talked about educational matters.
“Through our Chamber Legislative Forums, we believe it is important to provide the environment for meaningful dialog between our Chamber members, the community and our legislative representatives,” said Whitley County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Romano. “There is value in facilitating opportunities for open discussion for all involved. This enables everyone to discuss, face to face, issues they’re concerned about. These discussions are also important to our legislators because it allows them to gather immediate, timely feedback from Whitley County’s businesses, non-profits and residents.”
Additional Chamber Legislative Update events will be planned for the months ahead. Watch the Chamber’s events calendar for further details as the events are planned at WhitleyChamber.com
A newly formed, non-partisan Chamber Legislative Committee has been created and any Chamber member is welcome to join. For additional information, contact Jennifer Romano at firstname.lastname@example.org.
