She married Everett J. Truelove on December 18, 1940 and had lived in Noble County all of her life. Everett and Kate were married 52 years, until his death in 1992. They farmed and worked the land owned by the family for generations. Kate was well-known for her fiesty attitude, open heart, crafts, and knitting an afghan for anyone who needed one. She also volunteered for many years at the Provena Sacred Heart Nursing Home.
Surviving are their five children, daughter, Phyl S. Lewis, Lois J. Pippenger, Marilyn K. (Fred) McWhinney, Thomas L. Truelove, Cheryl M. (Thomas) Berner; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Emma Jean Offord, Myrtle Barrett, and Wanita Albertson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Truelove will be Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Brazzell Funeral Home, Avilla Chapel. Tom Novy will officiate.
Burial following the funeral at Swan Cemetery in LaOtto. Memorials are to Provena Sacred Heart Home Activities Department.
