I am woman; I want more?

Dear Editor:
Americans are battling over the controversial “reproductive healthcare mandate” included in Obama-care which will require all employers, regardless of personal and religious convictions, to pay for abortions, abortion-inducing drugs, sterilizations, and birth control for female employees.
The fight is picking up enormous momentum as people of faith rise up against this unconstitutional attack on their religious freedom. It also reveals President Obama’s false promise of an executive order to prevent this absurdity from happening. The Obama Administration is attempting to take cover behind their pet press agents and feminists who are dubbing this “a fight over womens health” and “access to free contraception.”
Of course we are familiar with the left’s ability to spin unethical action into artificial legitimacy. By twisting the argument, Democrats are banking women will “stand up for their right” to obtain employer-funded reproductive health care and forget how this mandate will rob Americans of their Constitutional rights. Yet, this ploy has revealed some curiosities.
Aren’t we a nation that promotes female independence? So, why are Democrats encouraging American women to cast their self-reliance aside and ask others to pay for their contraception? Aren’t independent women fully capable of obtaining their own birth control pills? Contraception is relatively cheap.
Why is “the left” pushing women to demand that fellow Americans pay for their abortions, RU486 pills, and sterilization procedures? A strong, independent person doesn’t expect others to provide for them; they pay for their own needs, especially when such private matters are involved.
And doesn’t Planned Parenthood exist to meet the needs of women without means? And what about the “non-religious” employers who disagree with abortion and don’t want to pay for it either? Is it possible “the left” perceives Americans as weak, incapable, and stupid?
Democrats are playing a dishonorable game with our emotions. They’re shamelessly using women to deflect blame for passing the terrible Obama-care law which harbors this “abortion-abortifacient-sterilization-contraception mandate” and strips Americans of their precious religious freedoms and constitutional rights. In November, stand up for our constitution; fire President Obama and his cronies.
