“Dining with Diabetes” is a program for people with diabetes and their families. This four week cooking school will be held on Tuesdays, May 25, June 1, June 8, and June 15; 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Whitley County Extension Office, 115 South Line Street, Columbia City.
The annual Mini 4-H Camp was on Saturday, April 24 at the Whitley County 4-H Center. Mini 4-H’ers spent the day learning about how to prepare their Mini 4-H projects. They were also introduced to how to prepare for some regular 4-H projects when they are older. Ten stations were setup for the children to visit for different learning techniques.

The Green Township 4-H Club opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge that was led by Danny Resler then the 4-H trail that was led by Sierra Przemielewski. After that song leader Peyton Gaff led all in “Singing in the Rain.” Katie Brumbaugh did Roll Call and Ted Pearson did the Treasury report.

Spring at the Humane Society of Whitley County means the beginning of “kitten season” – an influx of unwanted pregnant cats and litters of kittens. The number of cats and kittens brought in during the summer months is more than double what they see during the winter. In order to try to make as much room as possible for the future residents the Humane Society is holding a “Fixed” Cat Sale!
There will be a Cake Decorating Workshop on May 8 from 8:30-10 a.m. in the 4-H Center (West Room) for beginners, intermediate, or advanced students.
