“This year’s camp went really well,” stated Coach Sam Riesen. “We are excited about our kids coming up through the program. They show that we have a bright future here at Churubusco. The kids had a lot of natural ability and competitiveness.”

The Beezleys completely rebuilt their #69 Dirt Modified for 2010. They will show it off Saturday, March 20 at 12 noon at Kruse Military Museum. R. J. Saylor Go-Karts of Churubusco will also be there along with other area cars and drivers. The public is invited.
The Busco Merchants found themselves down 16-4 before they started clicking Sunday against Fort Wayne Alloy. When Busco’s comeback was complete, they found they had a 30-26 halftime lead, then a 65-51 win to try to climb back to a season 500 mark before it’s time to trade in the basketball for a softball mitt.

Churubusco boys’ Head Coach Michael McBride (16-26 in two seasons) released the team stats for the 2009-2010 season. The team finished 10-11 on the season with a 4-6 record in conference play.

The 2009-2010 version of the Churubusco boys basketball season came to an end last Friday night 64-59 in a contest with the Central Noble Cougars. The Eagles advanced to the semi-finals by defeating the Prairie Heights Panthers 76-67 in two overtimes. The Eagles finish the season with a 10-11 record and bright hopes for next year as all players will be returning for the 2010-2011 season.

After sitting a week, the Busco Merchants scored enough points to win a normal game against Wells Fargo but there are two sides to the game. Defense normalcy prevailed as the Merchants took it on the chin again with a 103-83 loss. They were trailing 47-36 at the half but and still thinking the hot shooting Fargo team should cool off in the second half, but they never did as they cruised to victory.
