He went on to win the second heat race as well. In the feature he earned a front row starting spot and pulled away from the field earning his 11th feature win of 2010. After taking the checkered flag he stopped on the front stretch and turned his kart around. He did a Polish victory lap carrying the checkered flag going the wrong way around the track.
Breneke followed in the footsteps of his Uncle Todd Sherman, who won the Track Championship at Limaland Speedway in Ohio, and his cousin Tommy Beezley who won his championship at Gas City Speedway. Three family members winning Track Championships on the same night, at three different race tracks in their respective classes.
The season was a difficult one starting off with the passing of Dalton’s great-grandmother, Marjorie Pursell in May and then losing another great-grandmother, Carolyn Hart in June. Dalton says he is dedicating this season to his two great-grandmothers.

Dalton will be doing some dirt track racing this fall visiting tracks like Stateline Speedway, Akron and the famous Eldora Speedway. There is also a big charity race in October at Archbold Speedway that he will be participating in. In December he may be participating in the Rumble Series at the Memorial Coliseum.
