Garrett got on the scoreboard by way of the free throw line. Off a Busco missed shot, Kasey Gibson got the offensive rebound and made the bucket for a 4-1 lead. Garrett then scored one at the free throw line and a two pointer off a Busco turnover. Busco gets on the scoreboard again with Savannah Labenz connecting. Then Garrett hits two baskets in a row to close out the quarter leading 12-6.
Busco’s Heather Monk hit two free throws to open the second quarter. Garrett then goes on a six point run to make it 18-8. Alex Walker scores two points for the Eagles and Garrett misses a shot, but gets their own rebound and puts it back in for two points. They also forced a Busco turnover and get two more points. Busco gets two more points from Walker and a foul from Labenz that puts Garrett on the free throw line. They miss the first one, but make the second one to make the score 23-12. Gross makes the first one but misses the second one to make it 26-13 Garrett going into half time.
The Railroaders went on a six to zero run to open the third quarter. Busco’s Morgan Young got the ball back after a Melissa Bueker rebound and drains a three pointer. Busco scores two more on a basket by Audrey Diller. Then Garrett takes it down the court and gets three points. Kasey Gibson takes it back down and gets two points to end the third quarter 38-20 Railroaders.
Garrett extended their lead in the fourth period outscoring the Eagles 15-5. Busco’s points came on a three-pointer by Gibson and a basket by Gross. When the final buzzer sounded the Railroaders were winners 53-25.

Busco was 8-24 on two pointers, 2-13 from three point range and 3-8 from the free throw line. Busco had six offensive boards, 16 defensive boards, 22 fouls, two blocks, seven steals, and 28 turnovers. Kasey Gibson had seven points and four assists. Haleigh Gross had five points. Morgan Young had four defensive boards. Heather Monk had three offensive and four defensive boards.
The Lady Eagles headed to South Whitley Saturday night to face off against the Whitko. Whitko defeated the Lady Eagles 67-48. The Wildcats lead from the beginning and never looked back. After a Busco turnover and a couple missed shots, Haleigh Gross finally got the Lady Eagles on the board, trailing 7-2. Morgan Young fought her way for an offensive board on a missed shot by Kasey Gibson. Young was fouled and connected on a pair of free throws. At the end of the first quarter the score was 12-10 Whitko.
The Wildcats started off the second quarter scoring six in a row. Then Savannah Labenz put Busco on the board with two free throws. Whitko went on a five-point run to give the Wildcats a 23-13 advantage. Labenz goes on the line again hitting one free throw. Both teams were in the bonus, Whitko connected on 14 of 18, while Busco hit only six of 18 in the second period. Whitko took control at the half with a 44-24 lead.
Turnovers plagued the Lady Eagles as they committed ten in the third period and 30 for the game. Whitko took advantage of these turnovers and extended their lead to 53-34 at the end of the third period.
