Young dancers between the ages of seven and 10 are invited to a Dancer Call at 12 noon. Please arrive in a leotard with your hair pulled back. Young men please arrive in biker shorts, white t-shirt and ballet slippers.
Dancers aged 10 or older and currently enrolled in a dance program are eligible to audition for dance parts. Young ladies should arrive at the audition in a tank style leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers with their hair pulled back in a bun. Young men should arrive at the audition with a plain white t-shirt, black tights and black ballet slippers.
Last year’s performances of The Nutcracker marked more than 45 annual productions by Fort Wayne Ballet of traditional holiday classic. With nine performances – including two with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and four matinee performances – Fort Wayne Ballet features more than 200 dancers and utilizes the talents of over 150 community volunteers in order to stage one of the highest attended events on the Arts United Center stage. This year The Nutcracker will be performed December 3-12.
