This was a contest where competitors from nine combined counties in Indiana and Ohio showed four different species of livestock. Each participant earned the opportunity to show by winning their own county fair’s top showmanship award. The top competitor received $600.00 from the DeKalb Young Farmers who sponser this annual event. Each individual specie winner received a Montana Silversmith belt buckle.
Brennen North from LaGrange County was the overall winner. He also was top hog and sheep showman.
Katie Brumbaugh, daughter of Mike and Carla Brumbaugh, was the top Beef Cattle Showman. Brumbaugh also won the interview question category and a $50.00 prize along with the belt buckle.
Charlie Huelsenbeck, son of Lynn and Mari Huelsenbeck, was the top Dairy Cattle Showman.
