Pork for Pink–Churubusco’s Ag Plus was awash with pink for the month of October to raise money to benefit local breast cancer patients. Branch Manager Mike Earnhart, center, proudly wore his Purina Pink 50 shirt and hat while grilling pork burgers Saturday, October 22nd. Breast cancer survivor & Ag Plus employee Tammy Yergens, left, helped spearhead the event, which included special discounts on Purina Pink 50 feed bags. Pork burgers, popcorn and slushies were available for a free-will donation throughout the month as well to raise money. Owen Gross, right, local farmer and member of Noble County Pork Producers, along with other Ag Plus “regulars,” helped with the event as well. “We’ve had an overwhelming response from the community,” Yergens said, noting that the benefit has raised at least five times as much money as last year with the sale of slushies and popcorn alone. Yergens said she is very appreciative of local businesses donating some of the supplies. Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography unit will be onsite at Ag Plus this Saturday, Nov. 12 from 8 a.m. until Noon to perform mammograms for local women.
